Structure

The InterAgency Board Structure

Starting in 2008, the IAB began the process to reorganize. Specifically, the IAB convened a strategic planning group to review its current mission, strengths and areas of improvement, and goals for the upcoming years. To achieve the new mission and values set forth by this group, the IAB reorganized its structure.

The IAB is now organized into seven SubGroups and one Committee. Each SubGroup elects two Co-Chairs, one who is a member of the IAB from a local or state agency and a second who is also a member and from a federal agency. Each SubGroup is staffed with Subject Matter Experts in that team's specific areas of interest. Each SubGroup is responsible for maintaining its subsection of the Standardized Equipment List (SEL). The Federal Agency Coordinating Committee (FACC) is the exception as it is chaired with a Federal Chair and composed of supporting federal government representatives.

Current FACC member agencies included: Department of Defense (DoD), Homeland Defense and Americas' Security Affairs; DoD, Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense; DoD, Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense, Joint Project Manager Guardian; Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Grant Programs Directorate; DHS, FEMA, National Preparedness Directorate; DHS, National Programs and Protection Directorate, Office of Infrastructure Protection; DHS, Office of Health Affairs, BioWatch; DHS, Science and Technology Directorate, Acquisition Support and Operations Analysis Group, Office of Standards; DHS, Science and Technology Directorate, Support to the Homeland Security Enterprise and First Responders Group; Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice; National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory.
